Etapp 22 - Tärnasjö to Syter
Perhaps a unique section of the trail, you walk along the waters edge for much of the 14 kilometres between Tärnasjö and Syter, passing several bathing spots and sand beaches before hiking over a series of bridges that connect many islands. The final uphill section to Syter is quite tough after an otherwise easy stroll.

One of the larger STF properties, Tärnasjö, has a reasonably sized shop, plenty of drop toilets, several cabins to rent and a sauna by the lake.
Sights
Bridges
The section between Tärnasjö and Syter has a string of large bridges over an island chain. It is unique on the King's Trail and a really striking part of the trail not to be missed. From certain points, you can get a few highlighting several of the bridges at once.
The Experience
Day 25 - 12th:
Shining river
You are following the large lake for about ten kilometres, sometimes close but mostly 2-300 meters away from the edge, through marsh and beech trees.
Pebble Beach
As you hike, there is the occasional spot where you can get onto a pebble beach, which would be a lovely spot for a swim when the weather is good.
Final bridge
You then reach the small archipelago with bridges spanning the gaps between the tiny islands. There are a few camping spots on the islands, through the wind can get strong.
The islands are a lovely section of a fairly dull section of the trail. Immediately after the final bridge, a small fire pit can be found somewhat out of the wind.
Once done with the islands, it is a steep climb to get above the tree line.
Lake views
The view back over the lake from the hill is breathtaking.
It is only about four kilometres from the lakes to Syter, the oldest hut on the trail, sitting on a river of rapids.
