Hagar Qim and Mnajdra

I then got off at the place that was my main purpose for this trip the neolithic temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra.

These ancient temples predate the pyramids of Egypt. Stonehenge or any other megalith.

Much of them remains a mystery. How on a small island that never kept slaves in Egypt's numbers were they able to build these structures. One block is 20 tonnes. The average weight of a stone in the pyramid is only 2.5 tonnes.

The roofs have never survived, nor have the doors, but these ancient temples light up to multiple solar events, making the construction all the more incredible.
