Vi som älskar 90 & 00-talet 2022

A concert in Slottskogen featuring some big and not-so-big names of the nineties and early two-thousands, they had a flat ban on film and system cameras, and I did not feel my argument that ‘technically a mirrorless camera isnt a dSLR’ wouldnt convince security, I relied on my Samsung S22 and its crazy zoom for some photos. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, its not razor sharp, but it does a surprisingly good job.

The venue was heaving and one poor pizza truck was totally unprepared for how many hungry fans wanted a pizza or three. The waiting time became three hours from order to pickup, and the other few food options were not much faster. More than one person ordered delivery food to collect outside the venue and come back inside once they’d eaten. It got so bad, the customers started helping out….

Some of the highlight acts were:

Markoolio

A Swedish staple, to the point one group of girls had the Markoolio board game on their blanket, he was surprisingly fun.

Da Buzz

Not entirely memorable and dressed for office casual fridays.

Las Ketchup

Only one of the three sisters made it. I’m not sure anyone is aware which of the three, but she still ran through her song and the dance we all remember.

Blümchen

A German artist who was bigger in Sweden than back in her home, but who put on a fab show.

Latin Kings

The unfortunately named rap duo had a lot of fun on stage. Certainly more than if the actual Latin Kings ever meet them.

Bosson

I had no idea who Bosson was until Miss Congeniality started playing in the background.

Robin S

Really great at getting the crowd going and a solid repertoire of her hits made Robin S one of the stronger earlier acts.

A1

A boy band with a very British sense of humour about their boy-bandishness. Most famous for their cover of A-Ha. They’re dressed like the cool uncle who’s unwilling to admit he shouldn’t be in the skinny jeans anymore.

Whigfield

More songs than you know about, including one new song that she describes as ‘different from her other stuff, not that cheesy stuff you like’ was a bit of a bold statement to make at a retro festival.

Dr Alban

Swedish musician with the catchy tune ‘It’s my life’ he had some great on stage banter with Haddaway.

Haddaway

An American musician famous for ‘What is Love” and a fun stage presence, even if he woudlnt cave to Dr Albans pressure to speak some Swedish…

Five

Stuck in Frankfurt and unable to perform, it was disapointing bit of news.

Coolio

He’s been spending most his life, living in a Gangsters Paradise.

DJ Sash!

Much more fun than I was expecting him to be!

East 17

No show with no explanation.

E-Type

Absolutly crazy older swedish star, at one point he threw his mic into the crowd for us to sing, and later jumped into the crowd and had to be corralled back on stage by the Crew.

Scooter

I’d only been aware of a single scooter song, but he’s got a whole repotoire and absolutely rocked (raved?) the audience.

2 Unlimited

More fun than they had any right to be and kept the crowd engaged with giant balloons. The announcers had to come on stage and stop them, as they’d likely have stayed on all evening.

Antiloop

Wrapping up the evening with a short set.
